Youth Pathways & Employment Support

Our Youth Pathways program is specifically designed to support young Tasmanians aged 16 to 25 who are seeking meaningful employment, vocational training, or career direction. Through a combination of structured mentoring, hands-on work experience placements, and targeted skills training, we help young people build the confidence, skills, and professional networks they need to succeed.

The program addresses the specific barriers that young people face in entering the workforce, including limited work experience, lack of professional networks, and gaps in essential workplace skills. Participants receive one-on-one career coaching, resume and interview preparation support, and direct introductions to local employers in the hospitality, food and beverage, and manufacturing sectors.

Who is eligible to participate in Brewlab programs? +
Our programs are open to all community members in the greater Hobart area. We particularly welcome individuals who face barriers to education and employment, including young people, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, and those experiencing social isolation. There are no prior experience requirements for our beginner-level programs.
Are your programs really free? +
Yes, the majority of our programs are offered at no cost to participants, thanks to the generous support of our donors, sponsors, and grant funding. Some specialised programs may have a nominal fee to cover materials, but we offer fee waivers for anyone experiencing financial hardship. No one is ever turned away due to inability to pay.

Where are programs held? +
All programs are held at our headquarters at 22 Gepp Parade, Derwent Park, Tasmania 7009. Our facility is fully accessible and includes dedicated training spaces, a professional brewery, and a community gathering area. We also occasionally deliver outreach programs at partner locations throughout greater Hobart.
Do I receive any qualifications or certificates? +
Yes. Participants who complete our accredited training modules receive recognised certificates including food safety certifications and responsible service qualifications. All participants also receive a Brewlab Certificate of Completion for each program they finish, which can be included on resumes and professional profiles.
